Rapid City, SD 6 June 2013

Ted's college roommate and his wife, Walt and Cleone Gund, went to dinner with us in downtown Rapid City.  They are from Ted's hometown, near Tulsa, OK.  It was a coincidence that we ended up in Rapid City at the same time!  Walt and Cleone have an RV pad with 50 amp svc. by their barn.  It is where we stay when we go to see Ted's family.  Go to our archive for this blog and look-up "Good-bye to Bixby, OK 4-7-09" if  you would like to see us parked on their pad.  We happened upon this concert as we walked to the restaurant.  It is an every Thursday evening event.  People were dancing and having a blast.

The Firehouse Brewing Co., is in an old firehouse on Main St.  Ted and I brought our kids here in 1984.  It was good then and it is good now.
We ate on the second floor.  There was old fire gear everywhere.  The guy in the photo isn't Ted.
Downtown Rapid City is cute and well maintained.  Old buildings have been preserved.  There are cute shops and trees.
This gorgeous sculpture is on a corner on Main Street.
There are not photos of Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Reptile Gardens, or the cave because we visited all of that in 1984 and really didn't have a need to repeat them.
